Livelihood and the Built Environment
As the physical structure of MorningSun is developing, staff and their families will have the option to live either in staff housing in the Education Center or to purchase/build their own homes adjacent to the Center.
In order to help fulfill the aspiration to live simply and lightly on the Earth, and to be a model of healthy development, construction of the built environment will have a high degree of ecological sustainability. It will be gentle in appearance, following the typical principles and patterns of eco-village development and Permaculture design.
Initially, as MorningSun is forming, each of us involved needs to be responsible for our own financial stability. MorningSun does not yet have the resources to support individuals and the staffing community. As it is established and grows, resident staff will earn livelihood through the Education Center (which includes the farming and craft activities) or the development of one of the future initiatives (such as the mindfulness-based school and children's village for orphan children).
However some residents will either need or wish to work "outside" of MorningSun. We hope that those who do will strive towards a sustainable livelihood as they will be appreciated as hands of the community reaching out into the world.
Residential Staffing Opportunities
Come one, come all who are able and willing to undertake this adventure in cultural reformation!
We need talented administrators, development professionals, and inspired educators who wish to take up a mindfulness-based community life and further the growth of MorningSun.
